    Converting your basement into an apartment or rental unit is a great way to earn extra income, and most earn back their investment within the first year. There's plenty of square footage in the basement that, once finished, can function as its own living space.

  • How much does a basement conversion cost?

    An idea of the costs involved: Conversion of an existing cellar: £750 – £1,400 per square meter. Lowering the floor level and underpinning an existing cellar: £1,500 – £2,000 per square meter. Digging a new basement space and underpinning: £2,000 – £3,000 per square meter.
